Detailed notes
    - Dealing with major underlying psychological factors in international relations may open up a new window of looking at international conflicts which have so far been explained by a number of perspectives. Enemies on the Couch by Vamık Volkan provides not only a frame for understanding international conflicts, but also a set of tools for mitigating and resolving them. The object of the book is to indicate the importance of underlying psychological dynamics in international conflicts. Applying psychoanalytical terms to his analysis, Volkan offers revisited case studies from multiple conflict areas which comprise a comprehensive volume.
